Education

Pre-school and after-school recreation centres are for the most part integrated within normal school premises. Childminders normally take care of children in their own home or in joint premises.

Preparatory classes as well as ordinary public education for children aged 6-16 years are conducted in school areas East, West and South.

Special needs school and training school are conducted on its own in the city of Sollefteå or otherwise fully integrated within public school.

Sollefteå upper secondary school has a good reputation. The school´s special ski program attracts students from all over Sweden who are interested in cross-country skiing and biathlon. Magdalena Forsberg and Helena Jonsson are two biathletes, who studied at this school who became World Champions in their sport.

The nature upper secondary school offer good education in forestry, hunting and caring for wild animals.

Sollefteå offers higher education through cooperation between the municipal education centre Reveljen and the nation´s university colleges and universities.
